"As a single parent for 18 years, I believe that every child given the opportunity and support will be able to succeed and be who they were created to be. My heart goes out to every child of God.” |
Sheeva Lotfian: She currently works as the Executive Director at the nonprofit Youth Employment Service (YES).
“I was raised in a church culture that placed a great value on following rules over having a relationship with God. As a result, I spent most of my childhood trying to please God through my actions. The striving left me feeling inadequate unlovable. My time at Westmont College completely transformed my view of God and my relationship with Him. I learned how to have an authentic relationship with Him and gained a newfound understanding of His unconditional love for me. Since then, I’ve actively pursued opportunities to share His love with others, both locally and globally. Over the years, God has blessed me with many opportunities to work with children, and to travel and do missions in Mexico, Fiji, Turkey, and China. I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve with Orphans to Royalty and am excited to be apart of what God is doing!” |
Mikal Sanchez: A business student at San Diego State University, originally from Washington State. Director of Service & Philanthropy for GLAB and Rady’s Relation for Dance Marathon at her school.
How I came to Orphans to Royalty: “I have always been invested in volunteer work and have been apart of various nonprofits with foster kids. When meeting the founder at a local coffee shop in San Diego, I was lead to the amazing opportunity to join the movement. I am inspired and touched by the board members and look forward to continuing my passion along side them. I am overjoyed to be the change and follow Gods plan in crowning orphans to their true royal identity..” |
Alexandra Ruvalcaba: A recent college graduate who started her career in Human Resources. She is born and raised in California.
Why I love Orphans to Royalty: “I have always loved being around kids and have traveled to various countries for mission trips. When I went on my first trip with Tanya, I could not believe how much joy and life it brought to each child. We personally knighted each child from the ages 5-17. I am so amazed by their reactions I knew we had to do more of these trips. Each child deserves to feel special and loved.” |
Tanya Kanney: Founder of Orphans To Royalty
“Growing up in a divorced home I felt alone and orphaned. Once set free, I grew to learn my royal identity and had a vision of a mother and father figure knighting kids at an orphanage. In 2015 we invited 5 orphanages in Mexico to our first royal ball. Since, we have knighted over 1,200 kids to uncover their true value. I could not be more thankful for the hard work of our core staff to fulfill the calling of restoring orphans into their royal identity. These ladies are dedicated, passionate, and fun-loving and it's an honor to work alongside them! And we could not do what we do without the support of each individual that comes along to make every Orphans To Royalty event a success. Thank You!
